We are also wondering what your wedding photography style is, and if you have a list of typical shots you will take.
Upon completion of your contract and receipt of your deposit, I will send you a suggested image list which will advise me about specific photographs that you would like me to capture both in the form of posed portraits and journalistic style as I document the day as well as give me a timeline of how you expect the day to unfold.
I see my role as your photographer as having two main components. In one sense, I am there to help you commemorate the day, and my job is to capture imagery from every moment; in that role I work like a documentarian or journalist as I witness and photograph authentic expressions and emotions. In the other role, I am the artist helping you to craft what will become the memories you carry of your wedding day. In that role I am composer, choreographer, lighting designer, and editor. I help to orchestrate your groupings, body language, and even expressions to create beautiful portraits.
What is your typical timeline for the wedding day?
Each wedding has its own timeline and unique set of needs. I aim to understand the vision of the couple before the day of the wedding so that I can best facilitate capturing all of the desired photographs. I typically arrive to the ceremony site early to ensure that I have a plan to acquire the best possible images of the ceremony and scout out locations for portraits if the couple does not have a location in mind ahead of time. I have built into my contract and fee schedule a variety of options so my clients have a wide range of expectations and desires throughout the wedding day itself, and I also am typically available to extend the duration of my service if that facilitates better images.
Do you use film or a digital camera?
Digital. I have a Nikon D750 which is a full frame camera and is considered to be the industry standard for weddings. I have a collection of lenses including prime lenses for portraits, wide angle lenses for full group, and a beautiful zoom lens for your ceremony. I am well equipped to handle any lighting environment your wedding might have. My camera has the capacity to record images onto two sd cards simultaneously, so it duplicates copies of the photographs I take which works as a backup to ensure that your memories are safe. Also, I come to every wedding with a back up camera just in case something goes wrong with my primary device.
How long will it take to see my images?
Within a few days I will share with you a collection of my favorite images, and your wedding gallery will be complete in 6 to 8 weeks.
Do you do any retouching or corrective services on them?
Each package has a specified number of hand edited photos which you are able to select if you wish or you can have me select.
Do you print the photos and/or give us the rights to the photos ? I give you the rights to print your images, and some packages include select prints.
Are services grouped into packages or can we pick and choose which services we would like? Yes, however modifications can be made at your request.
What is your overtime policy, and what do you charge if the event goes over? My rate is $125 per hour for service beyond the contracted time, and this can be divided into smaller portions of an hour as needed.
Is there a deposit amount, cancellation/refund policy? I collect a %20 retainer to save your date. This goes towards the wedding price and is nonrefundable. The remaining fee should should be paid in full no fewer than seven days before the wedding. Cancellation of service should be done in writing with at least thirty days of notice. All of this is detailed in full on page three of my contract.
